Makeup days are TBD and as needed (*weather cancellations, approved absences, etc.)

No drives or class on Wednesday evenings (after 6pm) or on Sundays (all day)

Behind the wheel (BTW’s) sessions may take place right after school, during the day (for homeschoolers or non-traditional) and Saturdays. Daytime drives are expected for all students during the summer months.

If your school has in service days, etc. those may be utilized for scheduling purposes.

Drives typically begin after the second day of class

All drives take place from Centerpoint Church

It is important that families maintain as open a schedule as possible for the duration of drivers training. Too many conflicts can disrupt a smooth and successful driver’s training experience.

Segment 1 requires that all students be at least 14 years and 8 months old by the first day of class. Each student is required to verify their date of birth by bringing a copy of their birth certificate to the first day of class. Parents will be able to send the instructor a photograph verifying the birthdate.

Garrett’s School of Driving, LLC reserves the right to make changes as needed to the course schedule and format.

  • August 21st 5-6pm parent meeting

  • August 21st class will be 6-8pm

  • August 22-29 class is 8-10am

  • August 31, September 1 and 3 class will be 6-8 pm

  • September 2nd class is 3:45-5:45pm

This class is great for families wanting to finish up the classroom portion of driver training before Labor Day weekend.

Kalamazoo, Portage, Plainwell and other area schools are back by August 31st (1/2 day). The classroom portion will be finished just a few days after the start of school.

Garrett’s School of Driving, LLC is a family-owned and operated business led by Chase and Bethany Garrett. Chase directs the school's programs and operations, while Bethany works closely with students and families as part of the instructional team. Their hands-on involvement ensures that parents and students receive personalized attention, direct communication, and a consistent experience from start to finish. Unlike many larger programs, Garrett’s offers families direct access to the owners and a level of accountability that is difficult to find elsewhere..

In addition to teaching drivers training Mr. Garrett also teaches for Gull Lake Virtual Partnership, Three Rivers Partnership and with Spring Arbor University where he serves as an Adjunct Music Professor in Percussion. He is currently working on a Master’s in Music Education from Bowling Green State University.
